Adoptable Cats: May 2020

Our tiny cat rescue, Cat Republic, has a few lovely little cats available for adoption. See below for more details, and reach out through their Petfinder pages for more info or to apply! These cats are all located in Brookyln, NY and would need to be adopted locally.

Big Daddy Red, aka BDR, was rescued with his brother in April when his owner passed away. Even though he weighs in at hefty 12 pounds, BDR is a sweet, shy boy who wants nothing more than a spot to lay and a scratch behind his ears (and around his hilariously gigantic jowls). He's a little bit of a goofball, too - he comes running when a can of cat food is opened, but only likes to eat dry food!

He enjoys the company of other cats, but tends to get pushed around by those with strong personalities, even if they're half his weight! We think he would do well solo or with another gentle cat for a friend.

BDR is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. He's probably around 6 years old.

We came across Chispa and Flaco while we were out trapping in Sunset Park. A kid came up and, out of nowhere, pulled a cat out of a bush! Apparently his mom had gotten some new kittens and was throwing out the "old cats" because she didn't want them any more :(

Chispa and Flaco are an *amazing* husband and wife pair, both fun and active young cats who immediately adore everyone they meet. They love to be pet, carried around, and doted upon, and (unlike most cats) would be perfectly at home accepting the clumsy affection of a child.

Chispa is the tortoiseshell, and spends her day playing with toys and chirping. Flaco is the intrepid explorer, even though he lost an eye as a kitten, and will always be curious what you're up to.

Both cats are about a year old, and have both been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and have tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Chispa is microchipped
