Come on a journey through the breweries of Bushwick both old and new. This beer tour starts with a walking tour of the former historic breweries of Bushwick and ends with a brewery crawl of 3 current breweries in the area.
You'll learn about how German immigration to America changed drinking habits for New Yorkers, how German beer halls differed from most drinking establishments in the city, and what happened to the famous breweries of New York that mostly disappeared in the mid-20th Century.
After seeing the sites of past breweries we will then visit the sites of three contemporary breweries (having one beer in each location) in Bushwick; starting with Niteglow followed by KCBC then ending at Eckhart Beer Co. where we will enjoy some app trays with our final brew!
In addition to brewing history we will also talk about the general history of Bushwick and connect the history of beer to other NYC institutions including Coney Island and the early days of baseball.
Drinks and food are included in the ticket price. If any non-alcoholic or food substitutions are needed please mention it when purchasing tickets and we will accommodate to the best of our abilities.
This tour is 21+ only. Please bring ID.
Brainery gift certificates cannot be used for this walk!
