James Hoffman is a seasoned licensed New York City tour guide with over a decade of experience. He’s set up an array of sightseeing walks and bike tours that span from iconic landmarks like Grand Central Terminal to the historic Green-Wood Cemetery.

Join us for the Louis Lerner Cocktail Hour at Wild East Brewing for a presentation on the history and tasting of three different rye whiskey based cocktails specifically chosen for their connections to New York City history.. This event will be hosted in their awesome private event space (formerly used as a warehouse for alcohol during Prohibition!)
Ticket cost includes your choice of two rye whiskey-based cocktails and charcuterie board.

What is the history of rye whiskey and why is it a must have for historically inspired cocktails? Why is rye having a revival? Why is an Old Fashioned “old-fashioned”? What does Manhattan have to do with the history of one of the most famous families from the Gilded Age? How did cocktails change during Prohibition? We’ll cover all these subjects and more all while sipping on expertly prepared cocktails.
