May 7 at the Brainery: Zombies + Ice Cream
Posted by Jen Messier on may 3, 2011 under Event
On Saturday, May 7, from 7-10pm, we’re hosting what is sure to be the best zombie movie/charity event you’ve ever been to. Details below, and no rsvp necessary.
African Solutions to African Problems (ASAP) helps women care for children in rural South Africa who have been orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV. Two ASAP volunteers who worked in the South African bush for over a year, made a…wait for it…short, ZOMBIE MOVIE starring African orphans. The result,”Transkei Terror” is about as hilarious and awesome as you’d expect.
Come mix, mingle enjoy FREE wine, beer, candy and ice-cream, and watch a hilariously gruesome, 7 minute ZOMBIE ORPHAN film (new genre, get into it), all in the name of charity. There is no cover charge for this event, but cash or credit card donations (processed free thanks to ASAP’s Google grant) will be happily accepted. This event is sponsored by: Chatham Brewing (upstate’s favorite beer), Van Leeuwen Ice Cream (Brooklyn’s favorite ice cream), and Papa Bubble (maker of the most beautiful bon bons we’ve ever seen). Contact alex@africansolutions.org with any questions!
