If ever you thought, hey, I wonder what my fingernails say about me, then oh boy, is this the place for you.

There's a whole bunch of superstition about fingernails and how you could read into them (much like reading the lines of a palm), but the most comprehensive and awesome database I found was from this book: Burroughs' Encyclopaedia of Astonishing Facts and Useful Information, published in 1889. That's a serious title for a book, but it does exactly what it says on the tin.

There are chapters like How Poor Boys Become Successful Men, How To Be Handsome, and How to Make Hand Fire Grenades, the first step of which is 'make your hand grenades'. Well, in the section of the book called 110 Miscellaneous Things, there's some great 'facts' about fingernails, which I've illustrated in this educational chart for your enjoyment. 

So everybody who comes to the Brainery must have round nails, right guys?
