New Masters of Social Gastronomy Podcast!
Posted by Jen Messier on mar 25, 2013 under Blog Post
Every month, we do a free live food lecture up in Williamsburg with our Very Good Friend Sarah Lohman, author of the blog Four Pounds Flour. (The next one's Tuesday, March 26, and you should go.) It's called Masters of Social Gastronomy and Sarah covers the history side of the topic while Soma tackles the science. There's lots of beer and some samples and a generally good time. In the past year or so, we've covered everything from fake meat to artificial flavorings and drinking games.
But hey, we understand if you can't make it up to Public Assembly each and every month, so we record MSG and put it out in podcast form, hooray! The latest episode is all about our rather infamous namesake, monosodium glutamate, and it's a pretty fun tale. We hope you'll give it a listen!
