The Very Very Basics of Domains & Web Hosting

Maybe you took our HTML class and are looking to connect the dots on hosting your own web site? Or you run a super rad Tumblr and would like to move on over to your own domain name? Or are just awesome and curious and want to dig a bit deeper into the Web?
We'll take a look at the domain-and-web-server setup process from start to finish, also touching on other fun things like one-click installs, .com-alternatives, nameservers, Google Analytics, .htaccess, shared hosting, and plenty else.
You'll need to bring your laptop! We'll also each be buying a domain name (if you don't have one) and setting up hosting, so you'll need to bring a credit card and feel comfortable making online purchases. Those costs aren't included in the cost of the class, but you shouldn't end up spending more than $10.
