In this class, learn how to make popular Thai fried noodle dishes from scratch. You'll appreciate the similarities and differences between Pad See Ew and Pad Kee Mao (aka Drunken Noodles). More importantly, you'll use a tested procedure and a set of culinary tips for making fried noodles of all kinds with any protein or vegetables you choose.
We’ll walk you through ingredient selection, substitutions, techniques and equipment adjustments for the home kitchen. Chef Laura will demonstrate each of the noodle dishes and explain her five rules for fried noodle success. Then you'll practice frying up your own batch of noodles, with your choice of veggies, sauce and protein - chicken, egg, shrimp or tofu. Finally, you’ll note a long list of cooking skills to apply towards future at-home take-out dishes.
This is a cook along virtual class. You can make your versions of the following:
-
Pad Kee Mao [Drunken Noodles}
-
Pad See Ew (Soy Sauce Noodles with Chinese Broccoli)
with your choice of protein (i.e. shrimp, chicken, or tofu)
