In less than one hour, make a hearty and fresh healthful lunch plus extras for ready prepped meals. You'll whip a bunch of herbs and other random contents of your fridge into a quick Blender Herb Sauce that tastes great on a hearty bowl of whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, and vegetables. You'll understand how locally sourced, seasonal ingredients can provide flavorful and sustainable menus all year round. You will apply techniques for cooking with what you have on hand, repurposing and extending the life of ingredients, substituting successfully, and minimizing waste.
Learn to properly season and choose the appropriate cooking techniques for a variety of seasonal produce, grains and herbs. Utilize the pasta cooking method or full absorption method on rice, quinoa, wheat berries, bulgur and more and distinguish between these methods for different results.
Brainstorm dishes and variations of the recipes using local seasonal ingredients.
You’ll return to work for the afternoon after this lunch & learn, armed with knowledge about grains, quick blender sauces and a hearty bowl to enjoy. And you’ll have lunch for the week!
