Intro to Batik: Totes or Yoga Bags

Taught by Julia Silver Gordon of Hiho Batik
Hiho Batik is an experiential retail store and art space, offering people of all ages one-of-a-kind products, in a mass-produced world.
In the Hiho Batik art space, our guests create Make-Your-Own Hiho products and participate in DIY classes taught by local artists and craftspeople.
*This class takes place in Hiho Batik's studio inside their store, located at 184 5th Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn.*
In this hands-on class, students will learn the art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique, and will practice different techniques using wax and dye. We'll then use these techniques to create a custom yoga bag or your own tote.
All materials are provided, but please note you'll have to come back approximately one week later to pick up your tote!
