One of the preparations that gets requested most for our private pasta classes is alla vodka. And students are pleasantly surprised to learn how simple this sauce is to make out of just a few quality ingredients. This is Italian cooking at its finest.
In this all ages virtual cooking workshop, you will make your own pasta dough from scratch. While it rests, Chef Laura will guide you through the creation of a bubbling pot of vodka sauce. You’ll learn the origins of this sauce and why it does, in fact, contain vodka!
You’ll then practice how to roll, shape and cut your pasta into cencioni, malloreddus, cavatelli, trofie, pici or sphaghetti. We’ll discuss recommended sauce and pasta shape pairings. We’ll finish with proper cooking and saucing techniques that will make you a top chef and your nonna proud. This class has something for pasta novices as well as experienced home cooks.
This is a VIRTUAL LIVE COOKING CLASS. Join from your phone, tablet or computer at HOME.
No special tools, equipment or ingredients needed. We will show you how to shape entirely by hand or with your pasta machine, if you have one. Some prep is required and unless you’re feeding a large Italian family, you will have some leftovers. Vegetarian friendly. A list of ingredients and materials will be provided 1 week before the class.
