Taught by Laura Scheck

Laura previously worked as a teacher and adult educator and was trained at the Natural Gourmet Institute, making her uniquely suited to share her passion for food in an educational way. Teaching Table provides public cooking demos and workshops, lessons targeted towards individual needs and special diets, private cooking classes & events for cooks of all ages and experience levels, as well as tips, techniques, and recipes via a blog and social media.
Every home cook should know how to cook eggs in a few different ways. In this technical class, you will gain an understanding of eggs and their composition. You will learn tips for selecting, storing and using eggs. With guidance, practice how to prepare them the 8 basic ways:
-
Soft boiled
-
Hard boiled
-
Poached
-
Fried: sunny side up
-
Over easy, medium or hard
-
Scrambled
-
Omelette
-
Baked or shirred
Of course, we will include recipe ideas and serving suggestions and give a nod to the many other glorious ways we celebrate eggs, like in custards, souffles, frittata, quiche, mayonnaise, crepes and cookies. So grab a dozen plus your omelette fixings, English muffins or bagels and some bacon and join us for a Sunday morning breakfast class.
This is a virtual hands-on class. There is some prep required for this class. You’ll receive a detailed ingredients, materials and prep list at least 1 week before class. No special tools or equipment required.
Recordings are made available after class.
