Drawing Summer Foliage (Outdoors)
Taught by Elysa
Trained at the Rhode Island School of Design and Goldsmiths College, Elysa Lozano’s art practice emulates a not-for-profit, called Autonomous Organization, which has produced proposals for Socialist colonies in a high-rise building in Houston, Texas, re-branded an exhibition space in London as a construction site, and created a web archive of project space survival strategies. Between curating, writing and conducting field research, she lectures at CUNY LaGuardia in Figure Drawing, Art History, and Urban Studies.
Summer is finally here and the plants of New York are erupting in a beautiful display of leafy greens and delicate florals. A wonderful way to show appreciation for this display is to look even more closely at the flowers and plants that surround us and capture their beauty in a drawing.
Join us for some Plein aire drawing as we learn to draw the gorgeous summer foliage.
We will start out with charcoal and pencil and there is an option to transition to colored pencils once you feel comfortable with the basics.
This class takes place in our backyard, all materials provided!
