Laura Scheck is the founder of Teaching Table, a culinary education platform that aims to inspire others to cook foods that are better for their bodies, their families, and their communities. Laura previously worked as a teacher and adult educator and was trained at the Natural Gourmet Institute, making her uniquely suited to share her passion for food in an educational way. Teaching Table provides public cooking demos and workshops, lessons targeted towards individual needs and special diets, private cooking classes & events for cooks of all ages and experience levels, as well as tips, techniques, and recipes via a blog and social media.
SEASONAL HERBS IN COOKING AND FLOWER DESIGN
For this new virtual class, Teaching Table is collaborating with Fleur Elise Floral Designer Elise Bernhardt for a very special class focused on the edible leaves from your favorite aromatic plants!
We will start with a calm, interactive workshop to create a beautiful floral arrangement using seasonal herbs and flowers. Elise works from a dance and Japanese perspective and the result will be a unique design made from easy-to-access materials.
Then Chef Laura will demonstrate and facilitate a live discussion highlighting various uses for herbs that will extend their shelf life and maximize their flavor. Together, we will create pesto from scratch with any herbs you have. You’ll delight in an herbaceous feast at your festive table.
