The Art of Blackjack
Taught by Brian Cotlove
Brian taught himself to count cards before even being old enough to enter a casino. After college, he spent six years making a career playing blackjack in casinos in over a dozen countries across four continents. An individual and team blackjack player, Brian became very involved in the small and somewhat secretive card-counting community, using statistics and deception to beat casinos at their own game.
Have you ever wanted to beat the casinos at their own game? Here's your chance to learn the ins and outs of the game of blackjack and card counting, how counters are both loved and hated by the casinos, and how you don't need to be a math wizard to count cards.
In this class, we'll start with the basics and explain the rules and how to play blackjack and learn the history behind the game. You'll learn Basic Strategy which can make you almost even with the casinos while getting your hotel room comped as well as learn the same counting strategy used by the MIT Blackjack Team. We'll explore the cat and mouse game of counters vs. casino security as well as the fierce battle among counters to safeguard precious information. To top if off, you'll hear some amazing stories about real-life card counters and their escapades in casinos around the world.
No need to know anything about blackjack or be a math genius or to attend. No long division, I promise.
