If you don't write it down, it never happened.
In this first session, come join us in a relaxed, welcoming and honest space to learn: (a) how to stop finding inspiration and start beguiling it, (b) how to turn yourself into a lightning rod to convert feelings, emotions, experiences and ideas into beautiful songs, and (c) how to create a content management system to take your ideas from conception to execution.
MATERIALS: An acoustic instrument like a guitar, mandolin, yuke, banjo; and a notebook or journal for lyric, melody, theme and song ideas.
EXPERIENCE: We require at least three years of playing, singing and/or songwriting experience.
HOMEWORK: Be prepared to discuss your favorite singer/songwriters, share sources of inspiration and, if you dare, share a song!
Remember, there are no cover bands in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This class is about making your own music and sharing it with the world, even if it's not perfect.
