Tapestry Weaving for Beginners (Park Slope)
Taught by Jessi Highet
Jessi Highet studied textiles and clothing, along with everything else she could manage to study at Parsons. She has been teaching children’s art classes for over 10 years and started teaching art to adults five years ago. She works as a stylist, window display creator, and textile artist. When she's not working, she's usually out finding something to tinker with, tediously stitch together, or throw in a dye bath.
In this class, you will learn the basic skills to make your own small tapestry style weaving, from start to finish!
You don’t need any experience to join this class--you'll learn how to dress the loom, start the weaving, add a pattern or two, and tie it off. What you will take home is a pretty little wall hanging, or pot holder, or doll blanket...whatever you would like it to be!
(Class size: 8. No need to bring supplies. Though some students don't fully complete their weaving in class, you're more than welcome to keep your loom to keep working on it!)
