Most new digital cameras have video capabilities that are often as easy to use as the photo functions.

In this class, we will learn the basics of shooting video on DSLRs – the best practices, settings, editing and common mistakes to avoid when starting out. Before class is up, we will shoot a sequence of shots and make a simple edit with them. We will discuss how to archive your footage when you’re done with it and accessories needed to take your video work to the next level.

Equipment needed: You'll need to bring a digital camera (with a charged battery and memory card) with video capabilities and manual settings to class with you. You'll also need to bring a laptop (either a Mac or Windows-based machine is fine). You should be familiar with your camera and how it works (more or less) already.
