Taught by Sharon Zeisel

Sharon Zeisel has been teaching jewelry making in New York City for the past 15 years. With a degree in Art Education, she combines her love of teaching with her passion for beading, experiencing great joy in teaching others how to make their own jewelry. Using traditional beading methods to create on-trend designs, students will learn how to use a variety of jewelry making pliers and materials to make beautiful, wearable accessories as well as experience the mindful zen that comes naturally while beading. Sharon has taught for dozens of organizations such as Brooklyn Brainery, Brooklyn Public Library, Coursehorse, BUST Craftacular, and The United Federation of Teachers (UFT) turning absolute beginners into confident, capable, and enthusiastic Beaders. She resides in Brooklyn with her teenage daughters, and operates her local small business, Bead On Bond.

This class might be over, but get first dibs on new sessions and brand-new classes by signing up on our ultra-rad mailing list.

A summer staple, the friendship bracelet all grown up! Open up your world to the calming, creative world of beading and learn how to professionally finish bracelets using the “crimping” technique to add closures (clasp/jump ring) to beads strung onto jewelry wire.

In class we will use measurement and design to create our own colorful beaded bracelets, stringing onto soft beading wire and attaching secure closures to bracelets with crimps. Create up to 3 vibrant designs using Japanese laser-cut seed beads in an array of gorgeous, on-trend, matte colors. A selection of adorable teeny-tiny cotton tassels will also be available to add a little fun flair!

Open to all, even those who have never worked with beads before. You will leave with an individually designed, custom stack of beaded bracelets as well as confidence and the take-away know-how to create more bracelets, necklaces, anklets, and belly chains that also use the crimping technique.

All beads and stringing materials included in the cost of class, with a set of jewelry tools and pliers provided to each participant for use in class. (Tools and additional beads/materials will be available for purchase at the end of class for anyone who gets bitten by the beading bug!)
