Poetry for Singles: A Singles Awareness Day Bash (Workshop)
Taught by Simone Waugh
Simone Waugh (Say Waugh?!/ Moni Waugh) is a writer, social media maven, and Arts educator in Brooklyn, NY. Her hilarious and sometimes tragic dating stories can be found in all corners of the internet and in print including her book, Bubble Baths, Sex & Hot Chocolate. She has been featured on several stages across the United States including the legendary Nuyorican Poetry Café.
February 15th is National Single Awareness Day (Yes, that's a thing). It spells out S.A.D. but you don’t have to be. We’ve stocked up on wine and chocolates, you bring your creativity. This poetry workshop will include steps on self-expression through free-verse and rhyme. Write that self-empowerment anthem, or tell that ex everything you wanted in an epic breakup poem.
Note: No writing experience needed, just a sense of wonder with a dash of humor, and a pinch of angst.
(And yes, we're meeting a few days ahead of the actual day on February 12th.)
