Oyster Tasting with Blue Ribbon Brooklyn
Taught by Blue Ribbon Brooklyn
In 2001, the Blue Ribbon Team focused their attention across the East River from the island of Manhattan to where many of them actually lived, the burgeoning enclave of Park Slope, Brooklyn.
At Blue Ribbon Brooklyn, there is truly something for everyone. Highlights include steaks, chops, oysters, burgers, Blue Ribbon’s famous fried chicken, paella and fresh local fish. In addition, we offer one hell of a kid’s menu.
The restaurant features a full bar with select draft and bottle beers, an extensive wine list and cocktails. The casual, yet comfortable dining room is the perfect place for an early dinner before or after a game at Barclays center, a casual night out with the family, or an epic night out on the town.
Blue Ribbon Brooklyn has been voted "Best Restaurant in Brooklyn," "best kid friendly restaurant in NY" and “Best Fried Chicken in the US”.
Back by popular demand! Whether you’re a raw-bar buff or a newbie looking to up your oyster game, this class with Blue Ribbon Restaurants will give you the knowhow to navigate any oyster list— and choose wines to match.
Starting with a shucking demo and a lesson on oyster types and serving preparations, each student will sample the below seafood accompanied by traditional accoutrements like mignonette and cocktail sauce, and Blue Ribbon’s own creation, Alonso sauce:
· 2 Oysters on the Half Shell from the East Coast
· 2 Oysters on the Half Shell from the West Coast
· 2 Classic Blue Ribbon Shrimp Cocktail
The demo will be followed by an informal wine pairing seminar featuring bottles hand-selected by Blue Ribbon’s wine director. The tasting will feature wines outside the profile of the usual suspects such as Chablis and Muscadet, giving you a chance to think just a little differently about what to drink with your oysters next time.
This class will take place at Blue Ribbon Brooklyn, an award-winning restaurant by Chefs and Owners Bruce Bromberg and Eric Bromberg.
