The Medieval era is simultaneously one of the most talked about and least understood epochs in history.

Starting with the fall of Rome and ending a thousand years later with the last days of the Byzantine Empire, this highly interactive three-part class explores the major cultural, social, and political events and movements of the Middle Ages.

Along the way we'll challenge the most pernicious myths and misconceptions surrounding this fascinating period: Were the Dark Ages really that dark? What was everyday life like for women and peasants? How did the Crusades start, and why did they end? And most importantly, did Medieval people really only bathe once a year?
