Taught by Sharon Zeisel

Sharon Zeisel has been teaching jewelry making in New York City for the past 15 years. With a degree in Art Education, she combines her love of teaching with her passion for beading, experiencing great joy in teaching others how to make their own jewelry. Using traditional beading methods to create on-trend designs, students will learn how to use a variety of jewelry making pliers and materials to make beautiful, wearable accessories as well as experience the mindful zen that comes naturally while beading. Sharon has taught for dozens of organizations such as Brooklyn Brainery, Brooklyn Public Library, Coursehorse, BUST Craftacular, and The United Federation of Teachers (UFT) turning absolute beginners into confident, capable, and enthusiastic Beaders. She resides in Brooklyn with her teenage daughters, and operates her local small business, Bead On Bond.

In this hands-on class, you'll make your own necklace using glass beads and a technique known as knotting. We'll put a modern spin on a traditional technique with contemporary colors of beads and silk. You'll leave with a completed necklace and the knowledge to keep knotting at home.

The color of the beads we'll use in class may vary from the photo!
