A detoxifier and pro-biotic, kombucha tea has become a popular beverage in the last few years because of its health benefits andunique taste. Kombucha can be found in many Brooklyn bodegas, but can also easily be brewed at home.

In this series of two classes, everyone will be given their own kombucha culture (SCOBY and starter liquid), and we'll learn how to keep them healthy as we brew our own kombucha.

In the first class we'll taste some different flavors of homebrewed kombucha, brew our own choice of tea, and add the culture. After a week the kombucha will be ready to drink, so we'll go through the steps of bottling it, start the second batch, and taste each other's product. By the end of these two classes, you'll have your own culture and be more than competent at making your kombucha tea!
