Discover the medicinal benefits of some of our favorite culinary herbs and spices, including, sage, basil, thyme, cayenne and cinnamon to name a few. Learn the ways in which herbalists have used their benefits in both food and medicine for traditional remedies. This class is filled with recipes, tastings and practical tips, plus the opportunity to make your own remedies in the second part of class. Ingredients needed for the class will be sent ahead of time and listed below, if you'd like to join in the remedy preparations.
Supplies:
- 1 ounce of culinary cinnamon or 3/4 ounce of cinnamon and 1/4 ounce of dried sage
- 32 ounces filtered water
- organic peppermint essential oil
- saucepan and lid, access to a stove
- a glass bottle suitable to store 32 ounces of liquid, a strainer and funnel for the bottle (so the liquid can be decanted from the saucepan to the bottle)
