Intermediate Tapestry Weaving
Taught by Jessi Highet
Jessi Highet studied textiles and clothing, along with everything else she could manage to study at Parsons. She has been teaching children’s art classes for over 10 years and started teaching art to adults five years ago. She works as a stylist, window display creator, and textile artist. When she's not working, she's usually out finding something to tinker with, tediously stitch together, or throw in a dye bath.
Intermediate Weaving will build on the skills covered in our introductory class, covering new patterns, knots, and shapes. You will learn how to make fringe, triangles within triangles, columns, ways to join different colors together and more! We'll also spend some time refreshing ourselves on skills learned in the introductory class.
To get the most out of this class, you'll want to either have previous basic tapestry weaving skills or have taken An Introduction to Tapestry Weaving at the Brainery.
