Taught by Sharon Zeisel

Sharon Zeisel has been teaching jewelry making in New York City for the past 15 years. With a degree in Art Education, she combines her love of teaching with her passion for beading, experiencing great joy in teaching others how to make their own jewelry. Using traditional beading methods to create on-trend designs, students will learn how to use a variety of jewelry making pliers and materials to make beautiful, wearable accessories as well as experience the mindful zen that comes naturally while beading. Sharon has taught for dozens of organizations such as Brooklyn Brainery, Brooklyn Public Library, Coursehorse, BUST Craftacular, and The United Federation of Teachers (UFT) turning absolute beginners into confident, capable, and enthusiastic Beaders. She resides in Brooklyn with her teenage daughters, and operates her local small business, Bead On Bond.

This class might be over, but get first dibs on new sessions and brand-new classes by signing up on our ultra-rad mailing list.

A little pop of color to adds a whole lot of style! Learn how to create a sweet, seed bead selection of delicately layered necklaces using the essential crimping technique. We will learn how to string beautiful and bright "seed beads" onto soft beading wire, and with special jewelry pliers, we will affix the closure the professional way! Everyone will have the chance to create two custom designs to achieve the chic vava-voom of the layered necklace trend.

You can choose to make both 18"-22" necklaces with beads all around, or do something slightly different with your second design- the appearance of seed beads strung onto the center of a thread-bare chain. Learn the secret of how to get the look!

All beads and materials are included in the cost of the workshop, and each participant will be provided with a set of jewelry pliers to use during class.
