Taught by Rhiannon Platt

Rhiannon Platt is at least third generation fiber artist. Raised by seamstresses, crocheters, and fiber artists of all kinds, she picked up her first pair of needles over a decade ago. Since her first scarf, Rhiannon has gone on to fabricate for Lion Brand Yarn, Nathan Vincent, Olek, Jeila Gueramian, Londonkaye, and Levi’s. In between commissions, she finds time to write patterns and make endless sweaters.

This is an old class! Check out the current classes, or sign up for our mailing list to see if we'll offer this one again.

Ever wonder how to work from an embroidery pattern? Have something you see online and want to transfer and sew on fabric? This class will teach students how to read and transfer an embroidery pattern from paper onto their fabric. Students will then learn how to decode the colors and stitch instructions before beginning their cactus patterns.

While you won't fully finish your 6" hoop during class, you'll take home everything you need to finish at home! A bit of experience with embroidery will be helpful (ie, knowing the backstitch). If you already know the chain stitch, that's a bonus! All materials included.
