So You Want to Write A Book?

The process of beginning a book starts with an idea that won’t leave you alone, a great story, a yearning to express oneself or a desire to delve deep into uncharted territory. It may be a bit of each.

But writing requires more than passion, it demands our dedication to show up for the page again and again, planning and a healthy dose of resilience.

In this one-day workshop, we’ll explore the art of the idea and take a look at the differences between non-fiction, fiction and memoir. The class will include exercises and handouts aimed at helping you narrow down your own book idea and some sense of how to tackle the process.

This workshop is open to anyone who has dreamed of writing book and wants to explore the possibility.

Please bring both a journal to write in and a computer (if you enjoy typing).

**There may be a surprise guest visit from either an agent or novelist who has been through the book writing process to share their experience and answer questions.
