How to Play Golf
Taught by Erik Kemnitzer
The founder & C.E.O. of Beyond The Eighteenth, LLC, Erik took his first golf lesson at age eleven. He paid for his swings as a starter, ranger, caddy, and pro shop attendant at Cherry Creek Golf Links and Fox Hill Golf & Country Club. Before earning an M.B.A. in finance from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Business, he was a general manager with American Golf Corporation, where he oversaw Long Island National Golf Club.
Erik founded Beyond The Eighteenth after 700+ rounds of etiquette-appreciating golf. He absorbed the game’s social environment with the help of his father – and applied his understanding of the sport’s customs and traditions to thousands of holes played with golfers from every industry and background. He teed off with amateurs, professionals, golf course owners, operators, and managers – yet never found a structured interpretation of the game’s social, cultural, and professional dynamic.
After fielding questions about everything other than the swing from friends, colleagues, relatives, and playing companions, Erik decided it was time to package his experience. Beyond The Eighteenth gives golfers and golf courses a systematic approach to learning about the hours out of every round spent not hitting the golf ball. That is to say: the game inside the game.
