Explore the diverse remedies that can be made using herbs infused in vinegar and syrups. Vinegars are used by herbalists for face and body care, as well as culinary and medicinal preparations. Syrups are perfect for tasty, alcohol-free, kid-friendly remedies for in-the-moment relief. Discover the herbs that are best suited to these forms of extraction and learn creative ways of using them.

If you'd like to participate in the practical for for this class, then please have the following supplies available:

  • 16oz bottle of raw apple cider vinegar
  • 2 x12 oz mason jar
  • 1 cup of sugar
  •  a lemon
  • several handfuls of fresh elderflower (if you have access to a non urban source and can correctly identify the plant correctly), OR 1/2-1 cup of dried elderflower,
  • 1/2-1 cup of dried mugwort OR a few handfuls of fresh mugwort (if you have access to a non urban source and can correctly identify the plant).
