Hand Lettering (Windsor Terrace)
Taught by Lisa Bruno
A Brooklyn native and passionate crafter from childhood, Lisa learned to knit, crochet and sew from her Italian seamstress Grandmother. With a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from Hunter College, Lisa honed her various craft skills as a student and staff member at the renowned craft school, John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC over 10 years ago. Since then Lisa has taught classes at the Folk School in weaving, quilting and hand lettering. Lisa also has a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education as well as being an AMI certified Montessori teacher with hopes of one day opening her own school in Brooklyn where she will teach children to knit, sew and write in beautiful cursive.
Hand Lettering or Modern Calligraphy is a great way to get a calligraphy look without the fancy tools.
The techniques are easy and can be achieved with low-cost materials. Along with lettering, I will show techniques for easy backgrounds and flourishes to make your lettering pop!
The first class we will focus on specific lettering techniques for the alphabet. In the second class, we will focus on floral embellishments with wreaths and banners. Come with an idea you'd like to letter such as a loved ones name, or a favorite quote or saying.
All materials are included, and you'll get three fineliner pens to take home!
