Comedy is all around us. Like, I just saw a guy fall down. ON HIS FACE! You can't make this stuff up! But what does it all mean? How did modern stand-up, sketch and improv comedy come to be? Why is comedy such a powerful unifier and what is it about comedy that I love so much?

To answer these questions and more, we'll take you through a brief history of stand-up, sketch and improv comedy, watch plenty of video clips, and discuss the intricacies of comedy and its most prominent practitioners. We'll talk about your new favorite sketch show on TV, deconstruct the genius of your new favorite stand-up comic, and make you love an improv group you've never heard of. Or maybe you have, in which case: Let's talk about it.

You'll come away with a VERY deep understanding of comedy and a new appreciation for this growing, wonderful art form. Plus: Some laughs.

*If you want to come to just one or two sessions (summer's hard, we know!), just email us at info@brooklynbrainery.com and we can work it out!
