Grand Central Terminal Walking Tour
Taught by James Hoffman
James is just this guy, y'know? Humble, intelligent, charming. Eyes a color you don't know the name for. He'll take you for a bike ride with his company in the morning, play a board game with you with his board game group Victory Pints in the evening and then prattle on about D&D and cocktails at night. Only in the morning will you realize that it was all a ploy and your jewels are no longer in the safe. Instead there's a note so beautifully written that the police officer who collects 'it' as evidence breaks downs in tears. You sob with him as the neighborhood wakes up around you.
Join us for a 90 min walk through and around the historic Beaux Arts masterpiece known as Grand Central Terminal.
During the walk we’ll discuss the tunnels of Park Avenue, cold war missiles, secret tennis courts, whispering galleries, the history of the oyster in New York City, where to find a lost fake leg left on Metro North, the race to be the tallest building in the world, cocktail bars that used to be jails, and much, much more…
Stops will include Grand Central landmarks such as:
The Main Concourse with views of the Celestial Ceiling
The Information Booth and Famous Clock
Track 34 former home of the famous 20th Century Limited Train
Vanderbilt Hall and Onassis Foyer
Front Facade and Chrysler Building
