Taught by Jennifer Mattson
Jennifer Mattson is a former radio producer for "The Connection" and worked as an editor for National Public Radio. She spent over six years as a producer for CNN, where she was responsible for CNN's daily live newscasts and producing CNN's international coverage. Jennifer came to CNN to work in the Washington bureau's political unit during the 1996 U.S. presidential election. She later moved to Atlanta, where she worked first as a writer and then as a newscast producer at CNN International. Prior to joining CNN, Jennifer worked as a reporter based in Budapest, Hungary covering Eastern Europe, where she reported on a number of regional stories for USA TODAY including a piece on George Soros and the Clinton-Yeltsin CSCE Summit. She has also reported, most recently, from Asia. Her work has appeared in TheAtlantic.com, USA TODAY, The Boston Globe, The Women's Review of Books, AsianCorrespondent.com, Tablettalk.com and CNN.com. Need some one-on-one feedback about about a piece you’re writing, the first few pages of a book, a resume, a writing project or just some basic advice on freelance writing? Maybe you just have an idea for a book or article you want to flesh out.
These 60-minute consultations are just what you’ve been waiting for.
You don’t need to email anything before hand. Just bring yourself and your ideas. If you want, feel free to bring any of the following: up to five pages of writing, a resume, pitch letters, a book proposal or a draft of something you are working on. Fiction, non-fiction, memoir and essays are all welcome.
Registration Instructions:
* The clinic runs from 1pm-6pm on Sunday January 4th.
The other option is a Skype or phone consultation at a later time/date (weekend or weekday evening).
* 60-minute consults are $100.
* After you sign up, you will receive a confirmation email. Please respond to let us know which time slot you'd like.
All meetings will be held next to the Brooklyn Brainery at Blue Marble.
