Take your nose on a nature walk around the Brooklyn Botanic Garden grounds after hours with horticulturist and educator Ashley Gamell. Participants will get the rare chance to rub, smush, and smell plant samples as they discover some of BBG’s most unusual botanical fragrances, from street trees to stinky flowers.

Fragrance is a great way to learn about the plants you see—learn how smell can help you identify NYC’s natives and weeds, and how scent relates to plants’ amazing adaptations, culinary uses, and life cycles.

This walk meets at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Please use the 1000 Washington Avenue entrance for admission and bring a printed registration confirmation with you. The walk is rain or shine, so be sure to bring an umbrella if rain seems likely.
