This class might be over, but get first dibs on new sessions and brand-new classes by signing up on our ultra-rad mailing list.

Have you ever wanted to join a book club or writing group, but thought, “An entire book? Really?” If shorter fare appeals to you, join us Tuesday evenings for an in-depth look at five superb short stories.

Each week, participants will meet to discuss a new story with a focus on a particular element of craft, such as point of view, how to create and sustain tension, or engineer a denouement that will have readers buzzing. Selections will include stories by Russell Banks, Kevin A. González, Jocelyn Nicole Johnson, Carmen Maria Machado, and Toni Morrison.

At the conclusion of each class, you will leave with a generative writing prompt to encourage experimentation and honing your skills outside the classroom. So, whether you want to rekindle your love of fiction, enjoy a spirited discussion of craft, connect with fellow writers and readers, or kick-start your own writing, take the challenge and join us for “5 Weeks, 5 Awesome Stories.” A new story in your inbox every week. Like book club, but better.
