Archaeology uses scientific methods, including field survey, excavation, artifact and ecofact analysis to reconstruct human history.

In this class, we will explore the wide variety of evidence available to archaeologists and discuss the different ways that such evidence can be interpreted. Attendees will learn theory and method while examining exciting case studies from around the globe, ranging from animal bone analysis in the ancient Near East to cultural resource management of a colonial-era burial ground in New York City.
