Experiential Drawing
Taught by Aaron Schraeter
Aaron is an artist, gin lover, and cinefile born and raised in Queens, who is addicted to creative projects. He got his MFA at Queens College, BA at Tyler School of Art, and has shown his work/been involved in projects at the Queens Museum, MoMA, PS1, and pop-up shows all over New York.
A traditional drawing class teaches you how to draw based on
what you see. In this three-session class,
we'll move beyond sight and draw
using other elements of what we perceive.
In the first session, we'll get comfortable drawing in new
ways. We'll practice looking at structure,
material, and texture. Next, we'll practice drawing using our sense of touch. In the third session, we'll
practice drawing what we hear.
Everyone is welcome - no background in art necessary!
