Embroidery: Patches and Pins (Park Slope)
Taught by Rhiannon Platt
Rhiannon Platt is at least third generation fiber artist. Raised by seamstresses, crocheters, and fiber artists of all kinds, she picked up her first pair of needles over a decade ago. Since her first scarf, Rhiannon has gone on to fabricate for Lion Brand Yarn, Nathan Vincent, Olek, Jeila Gueramian, Londonkaye, and Levi’s. In between commissions, she finds time to write patterns and make endless sweaters.
Add some flare to your jacket with this functional custom embroidery class. By creating pieces on felt, students will make work that is durable enough for patches on denim jackets or sturdy enough to be attached to a pinback.
We'll learn how to apply basic embroidery stitches to make our own functional patch or pin.
No prior experience is needed and all students will leave with a finished piece or two!
