Taught by Rhiannon Platt
Rhiannon Platt is at least third generation fiber artist. Raised by seamstresses, crocheters, and fiber artists of all kinds, she picked up her first pair of needles over a decade ago. Since her first scarf, Rhiannon has gone on to fabricate for Lion Brand Yarn, Nathan Vincent, Olek, Jeila Gueramian, Londonkaye, and Levi’s. In between commissions, she finds time to write patterns and make endless sweaters.

Location: Prospect Heights Brainery (190 Underhill Ave in Prospect Heights, BK)
This two-week class will focus on NYC’s coo-lest resident, the pigeon. These birds are full of many subtle color changes and students will use this to learn how to do a few different color changing techniques, including the satin stitch, silk thread painting, and blended seed stitch.
Skills required: basic understanding of any hand sewing/embroidery including separating threads, threading a needle, and puncturing fabric in a pattern.
The May 17 session will be outdoors in our backyard!
