Location: Fort Hamilton Distillery and Tasting Room

Join us at Ft. Hamilton Distillery for a presentation on the history and tasting of early gin based cocktails. Ticket cost includes your choice of two gin-based cocktails and charcuterie board.

What was the original “Pink Gin” and what does it mean to have it “in or out”? Which bittering agent in Gin and Tonics helped fight malaria and changed the world map? Why was punch most likely invented by British sailors and how did that lead to the Tom Collins? How did trying to cure scurvy lead to the creation of the Gimlet? We’ll cover all these subjects and more all while sipping on expertly prepared cocktails.

Class includes:

  • Presentation on the history of early gin cocktails

  • Your choice of two full size gin cocktails inspired by the presentation. You will be able to choose from a Gimlet, Gin and Tonic, and a “Gin Punch” inspired cocktail

  • Charcuterie board

  • An comparative tasting of homemade lime cordial vs store bought

  • A tasting of traditionally prepared Pink Gin

  • 15% coupon for a future Fort Hamilton Distillery Tour

  • 10% off any Ft. Hamilton spirits purchased after class
