Dip Dye Drop In Session (In Person)
Taught by Jessi Highet
Jessi Highet studied textiles and clothing, along with everything else she could manage to study at Parsons. She has been teaching children’s art classes for over 10 years and started teaching art to adults five years ago. She works as a stylist, window display creator, and textile artist. When she's not working, she's usually out finding something to tinker with, tediously stitch together, or throw in a dye bath.
Embrace summer by getting messy and turning your old clothes new again with an on-trend ombre look. We'll have a handful of color vats available and teach you how to easily get vibrant color that lasts. Bring along 2 items that you would like to dye - they should be 100% cotton items. T-shirts work well, but please no beach towels or sweatshirts!
Wear something you wouldn't mind getting dye splashed on, or bring an apron. We'll also provide everyone with 1 large cotton tea towel to experiment with.
This class will take place outside in the Brainery's backyard.
This is a drop-in session, come anytime during the hours posted (though you may have to wait a bit if it gets super busy!)
