Creativity is the sense of vibrancy that moves through us, in the world, within us, and all around us -- and it goes beyond just colors, textures, lines, and shapes on a page. But how do we find it? Sustain it? This class builds on the questions that ask “what’s the relationship between movement and creativity?” “how can both creativity and movement help us know ourselves from the inside out?” and “how can journaling support our sense of embodiment?”
Investigate the role of movement in creative practice, and how creative practice moves within us and in the world around us.
In this class, you’ll be guided through questions for discussion, meditation, gentle movements, and journaling ideas for connecting with your authentic, embodied self. Explore tools for your life and your practice as you play with the rhythms, pace, and shapes created in body and mind.
Movements will be gentle and can be done seated or standing. Bring tools for writing and/or drawing: journal, paper or sketchbook, and pen, paper, tools for adding color, etc. Due to the personal nature of journaling, class will not be recorded. Live transcription will be provided.
