Create Your Own Deskscape
Taught by Ashley Palmer
Ashley is an event and floral designer. She started The Ashley Palmer Project in 2016 to connect city dwellers to nature through art and design. Ashley spent ten years as an accessories and concept designer for various fashion brands before parlaying these skills into designing with plants. She studied Horticultural Therapy at The New York Botanical Garden where she learned to create garden programs for people with PTSD and anxiety disorders. Ashley aims to push the boundaries of incorporating plants into cities to make them more livable and improve the overall wellbeing of city residents.
No class on December 5th!
In this workshop we will create deskscapes - custom miniature desktop gardens. Participants will learn about and select plants and accessories appropriate for the deskscape before creating their own.
We will discuss the light requirements of the different plants and the aesthetics of designing with them. Everyone will leave with a 4” square planter.
Registrations for this class will close on Thursday, November 30th - be sure to sign up in advance! We'll also send a survey out prior to class so we can find the best plants for your particular desk.
