Would you like to have more control over your attention? Building focus is a skill, and like all skills, you get better by practicing it. This class is all about how to control your attention and coordinate mind and body. The activities combine whole-body movement with cognitive games, such as solving puzzles, making rhythms, and finding patterns. In this class, you'll experience the full range of attention control activities, from fast paced, high stimulus juggling and jumping to slow and quiet mindfulness meditation.
We will also explore the psychology behind skill mastery. How do we maximize our gains over the longest period of time? What's the best way to deal with feeling "lazy", and how can we conquer the problem of giving up? (The answers might surprise you). Learning from research in Positive Psychology and cognitive neuroscience, you'll get solid techniques to make the most of your mind and begin to master your brain-body.
