Taught by Rhiannon Platt

Rhiannon Platt is at least third generation fiber artist. Raised by seamstresses, crocheters, and fiber artists of all kinds, she picked up her first pair of needles over a decade ago. Since her first scarf, Rhiannon has gone on to fabricate for Lion Brand Yarn, Nathan Vincent, Olek, Jeila Gueramian, Londonkaye, and Levi’s. In between commissions, she finds time to write patterns and make endless sweaters.

Learn the basics of knitting that will allow you to make your first hat or scarf and get started enjoying this year-round hobby.

In our class we'll learn the knit and purl stitches as well as how to cast on and bind off. During class, you'll practice these building blocks with lots of individualized help, and we'll send you home with a simple hat pattern to get you on your way.

No need to bring any materials to class with you. During the class, we'll be using US size 11 straight needles and Chunky Weight acrylic yarn in a light, solid color. You'll be able to take the needles home after class!

(class size: 8, hands on, class will last approximately 2.5-3 hours)
