Taught by Marianna Breytman

Marianna Breytman is a Brooklynite from Ukraine who loves everything Spanish. (Process that for a second.) Her favorite things are food, language, travel, puppies, and international education. These days, she can be found obsessively listening to NPR, learning krav maga and doing Spanish into English translations. Check out her work here! -- http://globalvoicesonline.org/author/marianna-breytman/

Ever wonder why Spaniards get to take 2-hour work lunches? It’s because the food is really good. But fret no more! You too can learn how to make it through an entire meal in Spanish. This class will teach you the ins and outs of ordering the perfect glass of sangría, the difference between patatas bravas and patatas aleoli, and where to find the best chocolate churros of your life.

We’ll start with basic Spanish terms, learn food vocab, and lead up to having conversations with restaurant staff and your dinner guest. This is a 2-session class, the second of which will conclude in a little fiesta of our own with tapas and some delicious rioja.

So come join us! Sit back, listen to some Spanish guitar and learn about food, wine and Spanish culture. You really can’t go wrong!

This class is mainly for beginners – meaning you maybe took some Spanish in high school – or anyone else who wants to brush up on their food talk.
