St. Valentine's Day on February 14th is arguably the last of the important winter holidays celebrated in America today.

In this class we'll explore the cultural and historical meaning and practices of Valentine's Day. We'll spend some time on the ancient roots of the holiday, but we will mainly focus our attention on the holiday as it has been practiced in America from the Victorian era through today. This class will include lecture, discussion and Valentine's Day activities.
