Seasonal Cooking

Missing

Taught by emily

Emily is the owner/instructor of The Wooden Spoonful, where she teaches classes on eating well by using simple techniques and natural, organic ingredients. She also battles her deep love for cookies, daily, while working in a bakery. And, although she started cooking behind her parents' backs at the age of seven, the Culinary School at New York Institute of Technology says she is pretty okay at that cooking stuff.

Recent Activity

This is an old class! Enjoy the notes, and check out the current courses.

Each week we'll explore seasonal ingredients, all purchased from local greenmarkets!  We'll discuss the flavors of the foods, taste them, and talk about how the ingredients can be utilized in different preparations.

During the week, you'll use the knowledge you've gained about the week's ingredients to make a meal. Next class, we'll discuss all your deliciousness and the new set of ingredients.

The last class will be a final discussion of meals made the previous week and a potluck, where you'll be able to bring a favorite dish you made during the course of class.
